Hello Bloomers!

As I am in the midst of re-organizing and decorating my home studio, I decided to update my vision board. Vision boards have been an essential tool in my life for the past several years, helping me stay focused, inspired, and intentional about turning my dreams into reality. And it isn't just about images—it’s also a space for notes of inspiration and quotes that resonate with me, pictures or items that are special to me, serving as daily reminders to pause, reflect, and stay aligned with my goals and intentions.

If you've been thinking about creating one, this post will walk you through why vision and inspiration boards work, how to create one, and what to include to help you live with more focus and motivation.

Why Are Vision & Inspiration Boards So Popular?

Vision and inspiration boards have become go-to tools for those looking to bring clarity and motivation into their lives. Why? Because they help you:

Visualize Your Goals – Seeing your dreams laid out in front of you daily makes them feel real and attainable.

Stay Motivated – A vision board serves as a daily reminder of what you're working toward, keeping you focused.

Boost Your Confidence – When you regularly see images of what you want, you start believing it’s possible.

Align with the Law of Attraction – The more you focus on what you desire, the more likely you are to attract it into your life.

Encourage Daily Reflection – Including inspirational quotes and affirmations helps you pause, reflect, and set a positive mindset for the day ahead.

When you create a vision and inspiration board, you're not just pasting pictures onto a board; you're setting a clear intention for your life and taking the first step toward making it happen.

Step 1: Get Clear on Your Intentions

Before you start cutting and pasting, take a moment to reflect on what you truly want. Ask yourself:

  • What areas of my life do I want to improve? (Career, relationships, health, travel, creativity, self-care, etc.)

  • How do I want to feel in my daily life?

  • What dreams have I been putting off?

  • What quotes or words inspire me to keep going?

Write down your answers in a journal to help guide your vision board’s theme.

Step 2: Gather Your Materials

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A corkboard, poster board, or foam board

  • Magazines, printed images, or personal photos

  • Scissors and glue or tape

  • Markers, stickers, washi tape for decoration

  • Sticky notes or index cards for adding daily inspiration

  • Use Canva? It's a great place to create and download images, quotes, pictures!

Step 3: Find Images & Words That Inspire You

Flip through magazines or scroll online to find pictures, quotes, and words that align with your vision. Some ideas include:

Health & Wellness: Pictures of nourishing meals, yoga poses, or words like "balance" and "energy."

Home & Lifestyle: Dream home interiors, cozy spaces, or organization goals.

Career & Passion: Inspirational quotes, images of people succeeding in your field, or a dream workspace.

Relationships, Family & Love: Pictures that represent connection, friendships, or a happy couple.

Travel & Adventure: Bucket-list destinations, passport stamps, or travel quotes.

Daily Inspiration: Affirmations, motivational quotes, or personal notes that uplift you when you need encouragement.

Step 4: Assemble Your Vision & Inspiration Board

This is the fun part! Start arranging your images and words on your board. Play around with placement before gluing them down. Organize your board in a way that feels right to you—by theme, by priority, or in a more free-flowing style.

Tip: Leave space to add new things throughout the year!

Step 5: Place Your Board Where You'll See It Daily

Your vision and inspiration board should be somewhere visible so it reminds you of your goals and intentions daily. Great spots include:

  • Your bedroom wall

  • Your office desk

  • As a screensaver (if digital)

(Mine is above my gift wrapping/crafting table so it's always front and center)

Step 6: Take Inspired Action

A vision board is only powerful when you take action. Regularly revisit your board, reflect on your progress, and adjust as needed. Small, consistent steps toward your vision will lead to big changes over time.

A vision and inspiration board is more than just a pretty collage—it’s a commitment to yourself. It’s a space where your dreams and daily motivations live side by side. Living with intention means choosing to create a life that aligns with your desires, and vision boards help you do just that.

When I start each day with clarity and purpose, I notice opportunities aligning in ways I often don't expect! I really believe the universe responds when I set clear intentions, focus on what I love, and take action toward it.

Whether you want to travel more, launch a new business, or cultivate inner peace, a vision board is a simple yet powerful way to bring those dreams to life. So, grab your supplies or open up Canva, and start creating! Your future self will thank you.
